Pull the key points out of customer interview recordings

Rewatching long interview recordings to find the useful quotes takes hours.

What the agent did

Martha, a technical marketer, had hour-long recorded customer interviews for a white paper and didn't want to rewatch them all. She built a Zapier Agent for the job. A simple Zap sends each new audio file in a Google Drive folder to a transcription service. When a transcript is ready, the agent reads it, writes a report of the main customer insights to a Notion page, and emails her that it's done. On the first test the agent looked in the wrong place for the files, so she changed its instructions and ran it again.

What the owner still checks

Get permission before recording and transcribing anyone. Some transcription tools only connect to Zapier on paid plans. Test it on one recording and check the quotes against the transcript before you use them.

Start with one small workflow and test it on a single example. Add an approval step before anything costly or customer-facing.

These words are for someone already comfortable with tools and files. If you are just starting, the story above is the useful part.

When a new interview transcript arrives, read it and write a short report: who the person is, their three biggest problems in their own words (with a quote for each), what they like and dislike about how they solve it today, and anything surprising. Add the report to my Notion page [page name] with the interview date in the title, then email me a one-line note that it's ready. Don't contact the person who was interviewed.
