Run a monthly credit card audit

Card credits expire and rewards go to waste when nobody checks which card you used.

What the agent did

Chuck Cook set up Grok Bot to check each month whether he's putting dining, Amazon, and travel on the right credit card, and whether he's using the card perks he already pays for, like monthly and quarterly credits. One agent reads his posted transactions through a bank-data connection. Another looks up the current benefits on the card issuers' websites, so he isn't relying on an old blog post. A third writes a recap: charges that would have earned more on another card he already has, credits he hasn't used, and what he did right. He says the agents don't apply for cards or act on their own. He still decides.

What the owner still checks

Uploading statement exports is simpler and safer than connecting your bank accounts. Remove account numbers first if the export includes them. Card benefits change often, so check the issuer's site before you act on the recap.

It can move fast through a long chore. Slow it down for anything a customer will sign or a government form.

Starter prompt written by Agents 101. This was written for this guide. It is not a quote from the original post. Change the names, amounts, and accounts so they match you before you send it.

I've attached last month's statement exports (CSV or PDF) for these cards: [card names]. 1) Look up each card's current rewards categories and monthly, quarterly, or yearly credits on the issuer's official website, and give me the link you used. 2) Go through my charges and list any that would have earned more on another card I already have, with the dollar difference. 3) List each credit I haven't used yet this period and when it resets. 4) Tell me what I did right. Use card names and dollar amounts only, with no account numbers. Don't suggest new cards, and don't take any action.
